Birthday Wishes

Candles burn bright. Daughters and sons celebrate. I'm thinking of her. Is she wondering about me? The date is bold and strong. But her name is a mystery. The unknown works both ways. What will her wish be? Down through the decades. Mothers hold tight. Waiting for the day to come and go. For the day they can share the candle light. Wishes and dreams they both need to know. Mothers wait patiently for them to return. Some think I gave a gift but it was my heart that was taken long ago.
